Redcord Neurac
What Is Neurac?
Neurac – short for Neuromuscular Activation – consists of therapeutic exercise in Redcord slings. The goal of the Neurac method is to painlessly restore movement patterns and to improve function. Neurac treatment restores muscle coordination and focuses on treating the actual causes of a patient’s problem, not just the symptoms.
The Technique
Redcord takes exercises to the next level. By introducing slings and bungee cords, your provider can off-weight and support your body throughout each exercise. Similar to floating in a pool, this “zero-gravity” environment helps you facilitate neuromuscular control of the movement, without the interference of pain and compensation.
Who can Benefit from Redcord Intervention?
Conditions for which Redcord Neurac can be effective are:
- Cervical Radiculopathy
- Cervical Disc Herniations
- Neck pain
- Lumbar Radiculopathy
- Sciatica
- Lumbar Disc Herniation
- Low back pain
- Shoulder Tendinitis
- Rotator Cuff Tendinitis
- Frozen Shoulder
- Total Hip Replacement
- Total Knee Replacement
- Post Lumbar Spine Surgery
- Post Cervical Spine Surgery
Exercises for All Conditions
Only with Redcord equipment can someone of any age, condition and strength level do suspension exercises. Utilizing Redcord’s patented “bungee assistance” system, the person’s body weight is supported throughout each movement pattern with slings and elastic bungee cords. This allows the provider to adjust the amount of resistance and neuromuscular challenge applied during these exercises, in order to avoid the interference of pain and muscle compensation. Therefore, while requiring different amounts of “bungee assistance” to maintain proper form and biomechanics, a 70 year-old sedentary person is capable of performing many of the same suspension exercises as an 18 year-old athlete.
The Method
Therapeutic Suspension Exercise in Redcord Slings
Closed Kinetic Chain (functional load handling patient’s body weight)
Instability provided by the strings
Controlled Vibration/Perturbation To Specific Body Parts
Quickly drum on the ropes to increase instability in the bases of support
Vibration controlled through Redcord Stimula
Gradual Exercise Progression
Gradual adaptation of the exercises
Neuromuscular challenge slowly increases
A Pain-Free Approach
The exercises do not cause pain
Existing pain does not increase during treatment
